Harmeet Dhillon, a constitutional lawyer who is a candidate for Republican National Committee chair, tore into incumbent Ronna McDaniel’s election record, arguing that GOP under-performance should preclude McDaniel from a fourth term.
“We failed. We whiffed,” Dhillon told Politico of the party’s 2022 midterm efforts. “It was a communications disaster.”
Despite predictions that the GOP would net 25-30 seats in the House and regain control of the Senate, Republicans picked up only 10 seats in the House and lost one seat in the Senate. Every single incumbent senator won for the first time since 1934.
