Warriors In ‘Serious Talks’ To Acquire Perfect Klay Thompson Replacement

The Golden State Warriors are reportedly in “serious talks” on a sign-and-trade deal to acquire Buddy Hield. The Athletic’s Shams Charania reported the news of the deal.

Hield is a free agent, but the Warriors are in “deep discussions” to finalize a sign-and-trade with the Philadelphia 76ers to bring the sharpshooting guard to Golden State.

Hield, a career 40 percent shooter from deep, would be a perfect replacement for Klay Thompson, who agreed to a three-year, $50 million deal with the Dallas Mavericks.

The Golden State Warriors have fallen greatly ever since winning the 2022 NBA championship, and they’re now losing one of their main stars in Klay Thompson, who has agreed to join the Dallas Mavericks in a pending sign-and-trade deal.

With Stephen Curry still playing at a high level and a few young studs becoming consistent contributors, the Warriors are hoping to swing a big trade in order to pry open their championship window once again.

Per 95.7 The Game, Monte Poole said he has heard the Warriors’ top trade target is big man Lauri Markkanen of the Utah Jazz.
