- “I just find all of this surreal,” Kennedy told Smith and Roberts, comparing the recent turn of events to “a Quentin Tarantino movie” and arguing that everything that had transpired only confirmed what many people already believed about Washington, D.C.: “If it were not for double standards, there wouldn’t be any standards at all.”
- Kennedy went on to say that he was not surprised to see that Garland had appointed a special counsel — and noted that, given the fact that he had appointed one to investigate former President Donald Trump for similar reasons, he may not have had much choice in the matter.
