Team Trump Told Archives Materials Just ‘News Clippings’: WashPost
Before National Archives officials retrieved hundreds of classified documents from former President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club; they reportedly were told nothing was sensitive or classified, just 12 boxes of “news clippings.”
The allegations are from unnamed sources of The Washington Post.
Post story points to purported September 2021 phone call between Archives lawyer Gary Stern and former deputy White House counsel Pat Philbin in which he allegedly said Trump Team aware of no other material then the clippings.
Sources say Philbin got the information from former White House chief of staff Mark Meadows.
Stern allegedly sought the call because he believed there were still more than two dozen boxes of materials that Trump had.
