Supreme Court Ruling on Birthright Citizenship

On June 30, 2026, the Supreme Court ruled 6-3 in Trump v. Barbara to extend the 14th Amendment—which grants citizenship to everyone “born… in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof”—to children born on U.S. soil whose parents are illegal immigrants or temporary residents.
