• The U.S. Department of Defense announced the successful launch of a hypersonic missile that flew higher than 600,000 feet and farther than 300 miles.
• According to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, Lockheed Martin’s version of the U.S. Air Force Hypersonic Airbreathing Weapon Concept “capped a program that accomplished all of its initial objectives.”
• The agency plans to analyze data from the test, which, amid threats from China and Russia, will significantly contribute to future U.S. Air Force capabilities.
