Oregon Students Taunt BYU Fans, Apologize

  • The University of Oregon’s official student section issued apology Saturday night, after some fans used profanity-laced chant during their home game against BYU.
  • Twitter video shows a group of fans directing  offensive chant toward BYU fans and followers of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
  • “To all [BYU] fans in attendance at todays game [sic], we would like to apologize for the actions of the students in attendance. We do not condone or support any hateful speech directed towards one’s religion and are ashamed of those who participated,” tweeted the student section, known as the Oregon Pit Crew.”
