More Doctors Say No COVID Boosters For Them

Raise concerns over lack of clinical trial evidence

  • An increasing number of doctors report that they will not receive COVID-19 vaccine boosters due to a lack of clinical trial evidence.
  • Despite the lack of human data, emergency use authorization was granted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to updated boosters, or bivalent shots, from Moderna and Pfizer in August 2022.
  • In the months following the authorization, no clinical trial data has been made available for the bivalents.
  • The FDA is readying to order that all Moderna and Pfizer COVID-19 vaccines be replaced with the bivalents.
