Minnesota Democrats Reject Ban on Partial-Birth Abortions

• Minnesota Democrats moved one step closer to fulfilling their campaign promise to enshrine  abortion in state law.
• The Minnesota House Health Finance and Policy Committee Thursday passed what opponents are calling an “abortion-until-birth” bill.
• The Protect Reproductive Options (PRO) Act would guarantee a woman’s “fundamental right” to abort her baby for any reason up to the moment of birth.
• If the bill becomes law, Minnesota would join just a handful of other states with no term restrictions on abortion.
