Republican Congressman Kevin McCarthy has failed in 10 round of House voting to get enough votes to become speaker.

McCarthy failing in just the first round hasn’t happened in 100 years.
The California Republican, and the GOP House leader in the last Congress, cannot get a majority of votes to become speaker.
The magic number of votes in now at about 217, and McCarthy continue to get about 200 to 202 on each round.
