McCarthy Challenges Biden To Debate On ‘Commitment’

McCarthy Challenges Biden To Debate Over 'Commitment'

At a glance

McCarthy threw down the challenge Friday in western Pennsylvania when touting the House GOP’s blueprint agenda for the next Congress.

House Minority leader called for a primetime debate after Biden called the plan – Commitment to America – “a thin series of policy goals with little or no detail.”

Most political analysts, election handicappers and other political insiders think GOP will win House in November and McCarthy will be chambers next speaker.

“If the president wants to criticize this plan, let’s debate the policies. We’re the only ones with a plan to fix the problem. They created the problem with no plan to fix it.”

When asked whether  he thinks Biden will accept the invitation to debate, McCarthy replied:  “I think he would probably hide because he can’t live up to his own policies.”
