• Gov. Gretchen Whitmer appears to be trying to shore-up voter support after what some say was a lackluster performance at last week’s first gubernatorial debate.
• On Monday, she announced that $30 million in grant scholarships are now available to for local law enforcement agencies to hire more police officers. According to a press release, the funding covers  basic law enforcement training academy costs and recruit salaries.
