  • The Treasury Department should act to ban TikTok, a member of the Federal Communications Commission has said.
  • The Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States, a critical regulatory entity within the Treasury, should ban TikTok from the U.S., argued FCC Commissioner Brendan Carr in an interview with Axios . Carr, a longtime critic of TikTok because of its connections to China, has regularly slammed TikTok but is now calling for an outright ban. The recommendation arrives as the video streaming platform negotiates with the CFIUS over national security concerns.
