DeSantis has joined fellow GOP Texas Gov. Gov. Greg Abbott in sending migrants having crossed the U.S.-Mexico border to other states to highlight what they consider President Biden’s failed immigration policies.
Florida has set aside $12 million to relocate migrants from the state. DeSantis said Friday he would use “every penny” of the money “to protect.
Money covers the cost of buses and will cover “likely more” flights, the governor also said.
DeSantis has said he is sending the migrants to “sanctuary” jurisdictions, which includes states cities and towns that that have designated themselves immigrant friendly.
