The Consumer Product Safety Commission insisted there are no plans to ban gas stoves even though the commissioner’s comments were what started the controversy in the first place.
This prompted Republican Sen. Marsha Blackburn to tweet that the government was out of control if it thought it could mandate what type of stove consumers use.
Enter Democrat Rep. Ted Lieu, who thought this was the equivalent of “government-mandated pregnancies.”
