‘Complete Hell’: Texas Man Describes Monkeypox Battle

  • So far doctors have described monkeypox, cases of which have topped 200 in the U.S., as mild, a rash across the body that fades with time.
  • But a Texas man described his “traumatic” battle with monkeypox, saying he spent three weeks under quarantine grappling with symptoms he recounted as “complete hell.”
  • “You have these blisters that are inflamed and anytime it grazes something or touches something, it literally feels like someone is taking a potato peeler to your skin,” the man said.
