California Storm Brings Rain, Snow, Heavy Surf, Tragedy

A winter storm moving from Northern to Southern California has brought snow, heavy surf, mudslide and is being blames for at least six deaths.

  • The huge storm that barreled into California on Wednesday also brought heavy rain and knocked out power to more than 100,000 people.
  • Most of the San Francisco Bay Area region remained under flood warnings into late Thursday night.
  • The storm was expected to peak in Southern California by Thursday.
  • Winds gusted to at least 85 mph, and at least two people have died in the storm, including a 2-year-old.
