Buffalo Airport CLOSED, Rolling Blackouts, 4 Feet Of Snow

The Buffalo Niagara International Airport will be closed through Monday, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said.

  • The winter storm as of Christmas morning has killed at least at least 18 people – with its freezing temperatures now in states from Maine to Florida, though the snow that blanketed Buffalo and other parts of the country’s Great Lakes region with about two feet did impact the eastern parts of the U.S. as much.
  • The snow and blizzard conditions in Buffalo has stranded almost every fire truck in the city, Gov. Hochul also said.
  • Temperature in the east are by Tuesday expected to become more seasonal, with the high in Washington, D.C., forecasted for 41 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • PJM Interconnection says its power plants are having difficulty operating in the cold is asking customers in the 13 Mid-Atlantic states it services to conserve electricity through at least Christmas morning.
