• Nearly half of San Francisco residents have been robbed in t he past five years, according to a poll by a California NPR affiliate.
• Specifically, 45 percent of city residents answered in the affirmative when asked, “During the last five years, was any item you owned ever stolen from you or did that not happen during that time?”
• The crime rate has spiked 8.5 percent so far this year relative to 2021 – not as high as other major cities such as Chicago and New York, but still troubling.
