American households are spending an average of $433 per month more than they paid a year ago for goods and services.
That figure actually is down slightly, from $445 per month in September.
Consumer prices jumped 7.7 percent in October, according the Bureau of Labor Statistics. That figure peaked at 9.1 percent in June.
